Bruce Jenner is being sued by the stepchildren of the woman who was killed in a major car crash reportedly caused by Jenner earlier this year.

Billboard reports that the wrongful death suit was filed in Los Angeles earlier today (May 1) by Dana Redmond and William Howe, the stepchildren of Kim Howe, who died at the scene. Their suit claims that they suffered “enormous damages and losses” when Jenner rear ended Howe’s Lexus, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic, which was then hit by a Hummer. Redmond and Howe claim Jenner’s behavior was negligent.

A day after the accident, Jenner released a statement about the accident, expressing his sympathies to the victim and her loved ones. The statement read (quote via ABC News), “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

Jenner cooperated with officials, agreeing to take a sobriety test after the accident. Sherrif’s Sgt. Philip Brooks said, “He did not appear intoxicated or under the influence of anything at the time.”

Jenner has not been formally charged in relation to the crash as an investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
