Charlie Sheen Will Reportedly Announce HIV Diagnosis on ‘Today’by Samantha Vincenty | PopCrush
Actor Charlie Sheen will reportedly give a surprising, unfortunate health update in an interview on NBC’s Today on Tuesday. The show’s site cryptically says that Sheen will, quote, “make a revealing personal announcement,” but TMZ claims the film and TV actor will be announcing an HIV-positive diagnosis.
The scheduled interview comes on the heels of an alarmist story from tabloid the National Enquirer that claims they learned, over an 18-month investigation, that Sheen has been “hiding” his diagnosis and “potentially spread the devastating virus to dozens of unsuspecting women.” One certainly hopes the magazine’s report on Sheen’s “cover-up” is pure speculation, if he is indeed living with an HIV infection.
Sheen’s most recent TV series, Anger Management, ran from 2012 to 2014. He co-starred on the immensely popular CBC sitcom Two and a Half Men for eight seasons, but was replaced by Ashton Kutcher after Sheen’s contract was terminated in a “moral turpitude” clause invoked after trips to rehab and conflict with show creator Chuck Lorre.
The Today interview will air Tuesday morning (November 17) and video will be available shortly thereafter — stay tuned for updates.
