Chris Brown has had a tumultuous career to say the least. After breaking through and becoming sort of an R&B/pop sweetheart in the mid-2000s, the artist fell from grace after an incident in 2009 in which he violently assaulted his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. Over the years since, Brown has been involved in a number of controversies, some of which have resulted in criminal charges, as well as highly-publicized drama involving previous girlfriends, including an ongoing custody battle with the mother of his child, Nia Guzman.

However, it looks like Chris is finally ready to cool off, calm down, and focus on what he came here for in the first place: the music. And more than ever, this includes putting fatherhood first. Today the artist announced to his fans on Twitter that his upcoming new album will be titled Royalty, named after his one-year-old baby girl.

It was revealed back in March that Chris was Royalty’s father, and ever since the “Body On Me” singer has been visibly trying to play catch-up on daddy duties, gushing about his daughter on social media and lamenting the heartbreak of missing his baby while out on tour and on the road. Recently, the artist paid tribute to his daughter on Instagram, posing a photo of her and captioning it, “The only one who will give me unconditional love and will teach me how to become a man.” Here’s hoping the upcoming album is just as personal and reflective!

WCW (everyday)! The only one who will give me unconditional love and will teach me how to become a man.
