John Stamos Confirms ‘Full House’ Spin-Off, ‘Fuller House’ [VIDEO]by Maggie Malach | PopCrush
“We’ve been working on this for many, many years,” he told Jimmy of Fuller House. “The original creator Jeff Franklin and Bob Boyett and Tom Miller — we were trying to do some sort of spin-off and we wanted to give credit to the legacy. We didn’t want to just sort of throw it away. So Netflix came around and said ‘Let’s do 13 episodes.'”
John outlined the plot of the new series.
“So it starts sort of as a reunion and then spins off into this — like a spin-off — and so you have Candace [Cameron Bure], Jodie [Sweetin] and Andrea Barber … Candace has three boys and it’s sort of a reversal, turn the house over to her.”
We can’t wait. It sounds like the cast is equally excited!
“It’s a labor of love and we’ve been literally trying for so many years to do it right and I think we finally got it perfect, and they just five minutes ago said ‘You can give the exclusive to Jimmy Kimmel,’ so I’ve just given it to you,” John said.
E! News reports that Netflix released a statement saying appearances by Dave Coulier Lori Loughlin, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen and Bob Saget are still in talks. E! also shared a more detailed synopsis of the plot: “D.J. is a pregnant veterinarian who is recently widowed and living in San Francisco. Her sister Stephanie, an aspiring musician, and BFF Kimmy, a fellow single mom, both move in to help raise D.J.’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max — plus her soon-to-arrive baby.”
John first hinted at a sequel all the way back in August. Earlier this month, news broke that the series would appear on Netflix. Now all we need to do is wait until 2016, when it will hit the streaming service.
