J.K. Simmons Wins the 2015 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor [VIDEO]

Congratulations to J.K. Simmons, who just won the 2015 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Whiplash!

While the actor portrayed a ruthless, abusive conductor in the Oscar-nominated film, his acceptance speech was filled with nothing but love and appreciation — it was truly a touching tribute to his family.

“I am grateful for your love, your kindness, your wisdom, your sacrifice, your patience,” he declared as he held the golden statuette, looking lovingly at his wife. He then went on to discuss the accomplishments of his children, encouraging them — and every person in the room and at home — to call their parents and thank them for everything they’ve bestowed upon them. Pardon us while we make some phone calls.

Not gonna lie, this one called for pretty much an entire box of Kleenex. Simmons’ speech was genuine and heartfelt, completely deflecting one of the biggest accomplishments of his life and instead focusing on what is most important to him: His family. So sweet.

Of course, host Neil Patrick Harris couldn’t resist making a Farmers Insurance commercial joke (Simmons stars) quipping, “We are farmers, dun dun dun dun dun dun dun” after the actor’s speech. Oh, NPH. You are a genuine legend.
