Keegan-Michael Key Brings Obama’s Anger Translator to White House Correspondents’ Dinner [VIDEO]by Maggie Malach | PopCrush
President Barack Obama got help from comedic royalty during his address at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The president’s speech at the annual event is known for being a comedic routine. This year, Obama’s “anger translator” Luther, played by Keegan-Michael Key, made a cameo. As the president spoke, Key translated the remarks to show what the Commander in Chief was really thinking.
“In our fast-changing world, traditions like the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are important,” Obama began.
“I mean, really? What is this dinner?” Key translated, jumping up and down. “And why am I required to come to it?”
The speech only got funnier as Obama and Key poked fun at Fox News, CNN’s Ebola coverage, Ted Cruz, climate change critics and more. Key’s over-the-top (and often on-point) remarks were as hilarious as the president’s nonchalant delivery.
Of course, when Obama starts to get heated about the subject-matter, Luther is quick to step in to suggest that the president might need counseling. You can watch the hilarious speech in the video above!
Cracking up over Keegan-Michael Key? Be sure to catch him on his Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele, USA’s Playing House, the first season of Fargo and the final season of Parks and Recreation.
