Marque ‘Tate’ Lynche, Ex ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ Member, Dies At 34by Samantha Vincenty | PopCrush
Marque ‘Tate’ Lynche, a former actor on Disney’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club, died this past Sunday (December 6). He was 34 years old.
Lynche, who was living in New York City, was found by his roommate in their apartment and was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. eastern on Sunday, according to The Wrap. The NYPD is looking into what may have caused Lynche’s death as they await the coroner’s report. The Daily News reports that there was no apparent body trauma, but the death “was deemed suspicious.”
The actor-singer was an MMC cast member from 1993-1995, when he starred (as Tate Lynche) alongside Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling at the beginning of their careers. After his mother’s death Marque spent several years out of the television spotlight, and in 2004 he competed in Season 3 of American Idol, making it to the semi-finals. Marque’s younger brother Michael “Big Mike” Lynche would later compete on Idol in Season 9, landing in the top four finalists.
The Wrap reports that Lynche also starred in The Lion King on Broadway as Simba in 2000 and was a cast member in “Fame on 42nd Street” in 2004. Lynche was currently focusing on singing and shared updates on his Facebook page, which has been flooded with condolences from friends and Disney fans. Fellow Mouseketeer Chasen Hampton honored Marque on Twitter this morning.
